In the writing world there are contests. Some are for fun, some are for publishing contracts. I’ve entered my work and books in several, and lost several. But today I can finally say that I won! Whoohoo!
One of my current works in progress, working title “The Paradox of Love,” took first place in the Western category of the Hearts Through History Romance Through the Ages contest. Hearts Through History is a chapter of The Romance Writers of America.
“The Paradox of Love” is a historical romance set in the late 1800’s in Paradox Valley, Colorado. A shy rancher’s daughter falls in love with a Ute Indian and must fight her harsh father and social convention to be with the man she loves. It’s my first attempt at historical romance and it’s been a lot of fun to write. Now to find it a publisher!
